Hello wonderful people and Happy July everyone!
I hope it treats you well; as well as June treated me. Because, yes, that sixth month of 2017 was the BEST so far! Many new books, new subscriptions, new fav movies, new fav bookish items and new fav people! Awesome ones, to be exact! Not to mention that I managed to finish the first 20 chapters of my current WIP, more of which you’ll get toward the end of summer!
So, shall we get this party started? Let’s go then!
June started wonderfully, as the first day of the month found me to one of the biggest bookstores of the city, finally getting my order of Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare, Nevernight by Jay Kristoff, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and, of course, A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas. Oh, you guys… You can’t possibly imagine how I felt, and still feel, about those books. I loved each and every one of them. No, love doesn’t quite cover it… ADORED! That’s the most appropriate word!
There will be extended reviews regarding all those books but, until then, I’d really like to know if you’ve read any of these and if you liked them. Even better, I’d like you to tell me which one you liked the most and which one the least; that will make it even more interesting!
Plus, it will help me figure out if it’s worth mentioning the beauties FairyLoot can offer to you! As I mentioned in a previous post FairyLoot is a monthly YA book subscription box that contains 5-6 high quality bookish goodies that relate to the theme of the month. July’s theme is tricksters and, assuming from what was told about this month’s book, I think I already know which one I’m going to get. Oh, yeah! I subscribed! Single purchase this time, but if they are as good as I think they are, I’m gonna go either for the 3-month or the 6-month subscription.
And if you folks are thinking about subscribing, too, you can always use the 5% off coupon code that FairyLoot offers to all subscribers of the 3-month and 6-month payments! You’ll save some money AND you’ll get high quality products!
Like the high quality Clinique products I got, after this event I attended somewhere towards the middle of June. Clinique invited me to a spa event that it was hosting and, aside from an amazing facial and a super awesome beauty treatment I got, I also bought the City Block Purifying Charcoal Cleansing Gel, the City Block Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask + Scrub and the Pep Start HydroBlur Moisturizer. What’s more, I got some super cool gifts as well, such as a small perfume, lip sticks and mascara, plus some free samples of other products of Clinique.
I love Clinique’s products and I’m sure you’ll love them, too!
And speaking of love, a couple of days later, my boyfriend and I went to the movies the third weekend of June, since it was still cold and rainy and summer had decided to postpone its arrival. So, we watched Wonder Woman instead of going to the beach and guys, I have to admit, it was a masterpiece!
Not only because it referred to Greek mythology (quite altered, now that I remember it), but also because this movie had everything the Batman VS. Superman one lack in. Great characters, spontaneous dialogues, epic battles, plot twists… It was awesome! And I didn’t realise how quickly the time passed! If you haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend it! You’ll get to see that Gal Gadot and Chris Pine chemistry! Interested?
As for the last couple of weeks of June, I attended this 3-day publishing and editing workshop I talked to you about on a previous post, which was freaking amazing and it truly help me. And that is because, like I said at the beginning of this post… I finished the first 20 chapters of my current WIP and I’m working on the 21st at the moment! Plus, I finally got the clear picture of where I want the story to go; if the characters will let me write it and they won’t start doing their crazy stuff uncontrollably!
Now that I have a potential editor and someone with whom I’ve been talking lately about the creative and artistic part, not only of the book, but also of this humble blog as well, I’m more willing than ever to work hard to achieve what I’m dreaming of!
That’s why I’m thinking about participating in NaNo Camp July, so I can finish my first, rough draft and start revising and editing when autumn comes. More information regarding Camp NaNoWriMo organisation can be found by following that link.
So, that’s all for today and for June in general.
How about you? Did you have a pleasant first summer month? Or winter, depends on where you live… Yeah, I’m talking about you, mates of Australia and New Zealand! Thanks for reading me! Did you do something special this month? Did you read something special? Even better, did you write something special?
