Hello awesome nerds!
I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through 2018. Honestly though, I can’t wait for this year to be over, as it is the worst one I had since 2015.
Still, there are those precious moments that bring light into my darkness and for that I am extremely grateful!
So, without further ado, let’s get to my Favourite Moments and Things of April 2018!
The first thing in my list is, of course, Camp NaNo! This April I worked a lot on my YA High Fantasy novel, I got great feedback from my dear friend Christine and during the next couple of weeks, I will be ready to send it to my beta readers so they can read the completed first draft.
What’s more, in terms of writing, I am pleased to tell you that some time during the summer, you’ll get to see here on Victorious Pages a collaboration between me and a very popular BookTuber. That’s all I can say for the time being but stay tuned because I’m sure you’ll love it! 💜 Or at least I hope you will…
And although I didn’t manage to finish any books during April, I received the gorgeous 2-year-anniversary box of FairyLoot, their Memorable Moments, and got a total of four books. Yes, I know they’re not too many but a) my TBR pile is -once again- out of control, and b) I have become quite picky on the books I actually want to read.
Still, the books I got in April are:
- City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4), by Cassandra Clare
- Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass, #3), by Sarah J. Maas
- The Wicked Deep, by Shea Ernshaw
- Frostblood, by Elly Blake
If any of you have read the books mentioned above, please let me know what you think of them and whether you liked them or not, by commenting in the comment section below.
If you haven’t checked her blog yet, I think you need to! This girl is super talented and does a phenomenal job, with interesting book tags, book reviews and so many more! ✨
Also, in April, I watched this amazing and heartbreaking movie, Before I Fall, which is actually the movie adaptation of Lauren Oliver’s novel.
I absolutely love Zoey Deutch, right from the Vampire Academy movie, even though this movie adaptation was the worst possible.
Still, Before I Fall has nothing to do with paranormal stories or fantasy, and this movie left such a huge mark on my heart that I decided to invest more on contemporary novels revolving around that kind of issues.
To elaborate more on that, here’s the novel’s synopsis:
“For popular high school senior Samantha Kingston, February 12—”Cupid Day”—should be one big party, a day of valentines and roses and the privileges that come with being at the top of the social pyramid. And it is…until she dies in a terrible accident that night.
However, she still wakes up the next morning. In fact, Sam lives the last day of her life seven times, until she realizes that by making even the slightest changes, she may hold more power than she ever imagined.”
It is breathtaking, heartbreaking, mesmerising and unique, and it has gone straight onto my TBR pile. Along with 13 Reasons Why, If I Stay, Everything, Everything, and many more!
If you guys have read any books similar to those mentioned above, feel free to leave your recommendations! ☺️
Finally… my new addiction: Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery! I love this game so much and I’m sure every fan of the Harry Potter series has already installed it on their cellphones, tablets etc.
You guys! We finally got our Hogwarts letter! How cool is that?
And how was your months, dearies? Anything special? Do you have anything extra wicked coming up in May?
Thank you all for being here once again!
Love you all to Pluto and back, and I will see you on the next one!
Till next time… Toodles! 😍
